Job title: Business Accounting & Operations Manager

The Missouri Association of Counties (MAC) is seeking a forward-thinking, detail-oriented professional who can build strong connections both in person and online. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records and prepare financial reports and bank reconciliations for the Missouri Association of Counties, the Workers’ Compensation Trust, and the County Commissioners Association of Missouri

  • Assist with year-end financial audits for all associations

  • Monitor the investments of the associations

  • Prepare the associations’ annual budgets in collaboration with the executive director and executive boards

  • Process biweekly payroll and payroll taxes; prepare and submit quarterly reports to state and federal agencies; and prepare year-end W-2 and 1099 forms

  • Prepare and process accounts payable, banking deposits, and related records for the associations

  • Coordinate and maintain insurance policies covering association staff and property

  • Calculate membership dues for member counties

  • Maintain personnel files and coordinate the office services needed for daily operations

Candidate requirements:

  • Education and professional experience in business administration and/or accounting, including at least four years of experience in finance, investments, accounts payable, or accounting

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and business management practices

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage Accounting software, along with the ability to learn new systems as needed

  • Travel, including occasional overnight stays, is required for conferences and training events
